Early Registration Thursday 9 pm

Just a heads up to let you know that early check-in for Escapade will be a little later than it’s been in years past. Due to real-life commitments on the part of Misti, our Con Suite hostess, early reg will open at 9 pm in the Con Suite (room TBD). Reg will open again Friday morning at 8 am.

Alternate Programming Update

The following slots are spoken for:

Friday 1 pm – Becoming Better Allies (from the original panel ballot)

Friday 2 pm – Being Humam
A vampire, a werewolf and a ghost share a flat in Bristol – sounds like the setup for a bad joke, but really it’s a slashy, funny, creepy joy.

Friday 3 pm – SW:TPM – Ten Years Later
Join us to talk about ten years of Jedi, lightsabers and space intrigues. What did we first love about them and what do we still love today?

That still leaves about 20 hours available. 2.5 hours and counting…

Late & At-Door Registration + Check your badge name

I just got a request, and I wanted to confirm to everyone that we WILL be offering registration at the door at Escapade. However, if you know you’re planning to come it’s worth it to register at the website (even if you pay at the door) so you’ll have a nice, printed badge (our handwriting is just not that great anymore).

And speaking of badges… Today is the day to log into the Escapade database, and confirm that you like the way your name is going to print on the badge. You can get to the database by clicking the “Sign up/Sign in for Escapade 2009!” link on the right side of the page. Or, if that’s just too much work, you can go here. We’ll print the badges tomorrow mid-morning, so get your corrections in now!

See you real soon!

ETA: There is actually a reset password function now. Select “Guest Account” at the database login screen, and then you should be able to reset your password. If you still run into problems, drop an email to info AT escapadecon.net and we’ll manually reset it.

Alternate Programming & Video – The clock is ticking…

I have just posted the draft Escapade schedule. This is your chance to take a look at it, and decide which of the nearly 24 hours of available alternate programming and/or video you’d like to sign up for. And here’s the catch, you have 24 hours to do it in! You’ll know which hours are available by the little “Available” markings in the right-hand column. Leave a comment here, or drop an email to info AT escapadecon.net, and let us know which hour you’d like, and what you’d like to do with it. Just in case someone beats you to your preferred time-slot, give us an alternate spot you’d like.

If we get your request in the next 24 hours (by 8 pm on Tuesday) your panel or video request will be publicized in the printed program book & pocket program. After that time, we’ll still accept requests, but they will receive less promotion.

Last-minute hotel details

We visited the hotel today, and I wanted to remind you of the following items:

  • The hotel is pet friendly. Contact them directly for details (and check with your roommates), then bring your furry friends along to Escapade.
  • Parking (including in-and-out privileges) is free as long as you park in the city structure. It’s right next to the hotel, and this is a special deal we’ve negotiated for our attendees.
  • The hotel has a heated pool (but no hot tub, darn it). Bring a suit. And the ocean is right there! Bring a wetsuit!
  • There’s a farmer’s market just blocks from the hotel on Saturday morning. We recommend it!
