Take a Plane
If you are flying, your viable airports are Oxnard, Los Angeles, and Burbank:
Oxnard (OXR): Most direct – more expensive, and you still have to get from the airport to the hotel. You can take the Ventura County Airporter which will drop you off at the Holiday Inn in Ventura (which is 3.8 miles from the hotel) and from there you can take a taxi to the hotel. ETA: Currently scheduled flights into Oxnard have been canceled. When/if this changes, we’ll update everyone.
Los Angeles (LAX):Probably the cheapest to fly into, and there are several choices for getting from LAX to Ventura. You can take the Ventura County Airporter which will drop you off at the Holiday Inn and from there you can take a taxi to the hotel (3.8 miles). You can rent a car, catch a shared shuttle (SuperShuttle, Coast Shuttle, Roadrunner Shuttle) to the hotel. You can also catch a bus from LAX to Union Station in downtown LA. From Union Station you can get either Amtrak or Metrolink headed up to Ventura.
Burbank (BUR): Is a compromise. It’s less expensive (and more accessible) than flying into Oxnard, and provides an easier connection to Ventura. The Amtrak/Metrolink light rail train station is right across the street from the Burbank airport. (There is a shuttle from the airport to the train station, which is handy if you have a lot of baggage.) Metrolink runs as far as Montalvo during the evening rush hour, but the Amtrak train will bring you all the way to Ventura.
Take the Train!
Amtrak runs trains to the Ventura station several times a day. The station
is literally 0.2 miles from the hotel. There are no major streets to cross,
so it’s an easy walk. Metrolink (light rail) runs more frequently and
reliably, but the end of the line is Montalvo, which is 5.3 miles from the
hotel. From there, you can catch a cab or a city bus (which will take about
45 minutes, and get you within a few blocks of the hotel).
