COVID
VACCINATIONS: CDC recommendation for vaccinations are as follows: “People aged 12 years and older who got COVID-19 vaccines before September 12, 2023, should get 1 updated Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, or Novavax COVID-19 vaccine.“
All attendees must show proof of vaccination on or after September 12, 2023. Bring an updated vaccination card to the convention, show the updated vaccination record using your phone, or send an image of it in advance to vax@escapadecon.net

Masks are not required. People may choose to wear masks for their own health concerns; respect people’s choices.

TRAVEL
If you’re flying in to LAX, for transport to the hotel (Embassy Suites LAX NORTH), the hotel offers free LAX shuttle service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, approximately every 30-45 minutes.

Long range weather forecast currently predicts temps in the high 70s, with sunshine. Pack accordingly.
DIY PANELS
Don’t have enough panels to attend? Create more onsite. Check the consuite program (large-format posted on the door) to make sure the slot you want is free. Get sticky notes and pens to update the large-format schedules at each function room, and announce your panel on the con-specific Discord channel. NOTE: the more graphic your panel, the more important it is to schedule in an official function space (rather than the atrium, where you can schedule many/most gatherings, including games).
Once you get to the hotel:
BREAKFAST! The hotel’s complimentary cook-to-order breakfast is back: enjoy made-to-order omelets, pancakes, or French toast and breakfast meats, depending on the day. Guests can take their plates to enjoy in the atrium or back to their rooms, as they choose.
