Escapade has all kinds of social events, from room parties, late-night con suite viewings and gatherings, to meet-ups and gaming, to the regularly scheduled big-tent events detailed below.
Buffet Breakfast
Friday 6:00-9:00AM, Saturday/Sunday, 7:00-10:30am | Atrium
In the Atrium, enjoy breakfast and coffee, juice, freshly prepared omelettes, and pretty much all of the other attendees. Schedule morning meet-ups with your friends, or just peek out your sitting room door and see who you’d like to join.

Thursday evening and Friday morning we have introductions to help you get oriented to all of the function space, the locations for various events and meet-ups, and the people you can rely on most to help you navigate things if you have questions.
Friday
Escapade Dance Party: The Vampire’s Ball
8:00 PM – 11:00 PM | Laguna/Malibu, Newport
Bring your party dress (or suit or costume) and make sure it includes dancing shoes. The Friday night party features our vid show/dance club’s retro vids designed for dancing and viewing; catered food and a no-host bar; and a quieter room for chatting and games. Also, cake to celebrate Escapade’s 30th birthday and attendees with February birthdays!
Saturday
Vid Show and After Party
8:00 PM – 10:00 PM | Laguna/Malibu, Vid Show Annex location TBD
Saturday night, the Escapade vid show screens new and nearly-new vids in a variety of fandoms, in two screening rooms: the quiet room (attentive atmosphere, more focused), or the Vidshow Annex (conversation cool; sing-alongs known to occur).
10:00 PM – 11:00 PM, ConSuite
After the main show, snuggle into your pajamas and the Vidshow After Party in the con suite, with more vids, bedtime stories (the more terrible and inappropriate, the better), chilling, and conversation.
Sunday
Sunday Morning Charity and Art Auction
9:30 am to 11 am | Laguna/Malibu
After the breakfast buffet, our truly famous auctioneer and art show team make the art auction a unique attraction. It’s fun, exciting, and sexy (and that’s before the artwork). You can participate in the auction and take home crafts or artwork, or you can watch the fun and win raffle prizes. You’ll support the artists, the charity, and your con.
Dead Dog Party
4:00 pm to 7:00 pm | ConSuite
No dogs were harmed in the planning of this party. :) This is the last chance to hang out with your new (or old) best friends. Bring any spare munchies you may have to share, and fill out a comments form while the convention is still fresh in your mind, and pre-register for next year.
