How will that work, you ask? We hope it will be seamless for everyone. If at first it’s not, we trust that willing and resourceful fans will help to sort it out.
MORNINGS ONLINE (8 AM – noon PT)
All scheduled programming in the morning will be online only to make them available to as many time zones as possible. If you’re attending the convention in person you can join using your own computer/tablet/phone from your hotel room or the hotel atrium (or the grassy park across the street for all we care). You may gather together to get a shared experience of the online panels. We will have some laptops and tablets available for use in the main consuite if you don’t have a laptop or tablet.
AFTERNOONS IN PERSON (noon – 6 PM PT)
All scheduled programming in the afternoon (PT) will be in-person only. We will sit in rooms together, with masks on, and have a “normal” Escapade panel experience (if that’s even a thing).
EVENINGS IN PERSON AND ONLINE (7 – 10-ish PM PT)
The Friday night party and the Saturday evening vid show will be held in person, with streaming access available for those attending online.
WHAT ABOUT ALL THE UNUSED SPACE?
The onsite panel rooms in the morning, and the zoom channels in the afternoon/evening will be available for DIY programming sign-ups. Directions on how to reserve/sign up for time slots will be coming soon.
HOW CAN I ACCESS ONLINE PROGRAMMING?
Online panels will be presented through Zoom; the vidshow will stream on Vimeo. We’ll have a “test drive” training session the weekend before the convention so you can make sure you’ll be able to access everything.
may I suggest that any of the panels’ post-it notes be scanned for the benefit of the ‘at home’ members. Also good for any in person attendee who missed a panel or wants access to recs etc mentioned during the panel.
thanks for the clear explanation on how things will work.
